Scott Thomas

Partner, Financial Advisor

From a young age Scott learned the value of hard work and the importance of saving for the future. After graduating from Albion College’s Gerstacker Institute in 2009 with an honors economics and management degree, Scott carried on these traditions into the workforce and joined his father Daniel at the Thomas Financial Group. Scott quickly learned that financial planning is a complex process and all too often people don’t know where to turn to for advice. Having the opportunity to be mentored by his father; a Certified Financial PlannerTM with over 30 years of industry experience, Scott learned the core values of listening, communication and the importance of always acting in the best interest of the client. These beliefs are the driving force behind every recommendation Scott makes as he educates his clients and helps them plan for a financially successful future.

Having a strong interest in fiduciary rules, Scott branched out into the 401k world and became focused on understanding ERISA law. With the ongoing developments in the Department of Labor fiduciary laws, Scott spends his time educating small and medium sized businesses on the importance of proper documentation and procedure for 401k compliance. He understands the key to a successful 401k plan, much like any relationship, is based on communication and paying attention to the details.

Scott Currently lives in Lake Orion with his wife and his son. He enjoys exercising and playing piano, guitar and drums in his local band.

Scott has his Series 7, 63, Life, Health, and Accident insurance licenses and is a registered representative and a personal financial advisor.
